A congregation in West Palm Beach is mourning the violent loss of Akeem Moore, a 31-year-old minister whose life was deeply connected with worship, preaching and church service.
Moore served at Mount Calvary Baptist Church, where his responsibilities stretched across music, outreach, technology and digital ministry.
He died after being shot on Ontario Place during the early hours of September 27, 2026.
A Life Rooted in Ministry
Moore was known within Mount Calvary Baptist Church as a Minister of Worship.
His work included helping lead music and worship while also participating in evangelistic outreach and church communications.
That broad involvement made him a familiar presence in several areas of congregational life.
Fatal Ontario Place Shooting
Police responded to gunfire in the 500 block of Ontario Place shortly after midnight.
Moore was taken by private vehicle to a nearby fire station suffering from a gunshot wound.
Emergency personnel then transported him to a hospital, where he later died.
Arrest Made in the Case
Police arrested Hugh Earp Milner Jr., 38, in connection with the case.
He faces criminal charges including first-degree murder with a firearm.
Those charges remain allegations unless proven in court.

Moore died from injuries sustained in the shooting.
